A prayer shawl is given to someone who is in need of comfort due to an illness, loss of someone dear to them, or a life-altering event. Having a prayer shawl wrapped around your shoulders is like receiving a hug from someone special. Many people have felt a spiritual presence; a feeling of warmth and protection. And, the blessing goes both ways; to the recipient as well as to the creator of the prayer shawl.

The prayer shawl can be knitted or crocheted. These prayer shawls are based on the traditional Jewish prayer shawl. The ladies at St. James knit prayer shawls with a cross on each end of the prayer shawl. The pattern is available on this website.

This quiet ministry brings enormous blessings to all.You are invited to join us each Wednesday morning at 10:00 am.
