Malaria is caused by a
parasite transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito found
primarily in sub-saharan Africa. Every day nearly 2,000 children
under the age of 5 die from malaria and nearly 1 million people die
each year. There are 250 million cases each
year.
Help save a life. Make a donation to NETS
FOR LIFE. A simple defense with your help is only
$12.00. That will buy one
insecticide-treated net that will protect 3 people from this
preventable disease. Please consider a special offering of at least
one net per family. Perhaps you can give one net per family
member!
Over a period of time, if enough nets are in place, malaria itself
will die out because in order for the disease to spread mosquitoes
need human blood. Please make checks out to St. James with a
notation on the lower left corner of your check "Mosquito
Net".
