 CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL - Posted: 04-Oct-08

Beginning October 19th the Children's Sunday School will begin a new unit of study. We will be learning 'How to Get Blessed Without Sneezing: Rediscovering the Beatitudes.' For many of our children this will be a weekly opportunity to look at the difference between God's Kingdom and the kingdoms of the world. We will learn that being blessed is more than the expected response when someone sneezes. Being 'blessed' is having God's favor and that blessings are special gifts from God that remind us how very much we are loved.

Take a few moments in the upcoming weeks to reread the Beatitudes found within the 'Sermon on the Mount' and recorded in Matthew 5:1-10. Yes, some of the vocabulary is challenging and many adults struggle to discover exactly what Jesus is talking about in this sermon. Our understanding will grow as we explore the Beatitudes in story, art, drama, games, cooking, and music.

Children's Sunday School meets at 10:15 in the gym. Our participants are in kindergarten through fifth grade and our experiences are often enriched by slightly younger siblings who want to participate in our active learning arena and middle and high school youth who drop in to provide greatly appreciated assistance. Come and join us.
