Prayer Shawl Ministry

A prayer shawl is given to someone who is in need of comfort due to an illness, loss of someone dear to them, or a life-altering event. Having a prayer shawl wrapped around your shoulders is like receiving a hug from someone special. Many people have felt a spiritual presence: a feeling of warmth and protection. And, the blessing goes both ways, to the recipient as well as to the creator of the prayer shawl.
The prayer shawl, which is based on the traditional Jewish prayer shawl, can be knitted or crocheted. Included with the prayer shawl is information on the traditional Jewish prayer shawl and prayers.
This quiet ministry brings blessings to all. You are invited to join us each Wednesday morning from 10 AM to noon. To request a prayer shawl, please contact any member of this ministry or the church office 677-0872. For information, please contact Sandra Bellico at 672-9063 or e-mail a pbellico@cfl.rr.com.
