Father Jim Harris
 

The Rev. Jim Harris is rector of St. James Episcopal Church. He previously served as Dean of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Davenport, Iowa and prior to that served as rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Jacksonville, Florida. Fr. Harris is a graduate of Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis, Missouri and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois. He has just completed his final year at Seabury Institute earning a Doctorate of Ministry in Congregational Development. Fr. Harris and his wife Laural have been married for more than twenty-five years.They have two grown daughters, Whitney (who is married to Nicholas Hopkins) and Erin (who is a senior at Southern Illinois University).

Father Fred Hovey
 
  

The Rev. Frederick F. Hovey, Jr. has served as our interim rector on two different occasions .  He is currently serving as an assisting priest to the Rector.  Before his retirement from full time ministry, he served as the first Vicar of Gloria Dei Episcopal Church in Cocoa, Florida, Assistant at the Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota, Florida, and Rector of the Church of the Incarnation in Highlands, North Carolina.

Fr. Fred is a graduate of Seabury Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois.  He and his wife Velva have been married 57 years and they have two grown sons, Fred,III, and Bryan, and two grown grandsons, Jason and Matthew.  Contact Fr. Fred at ffhovey@gmail.com.

 Deacon Judy Mathis 

The Rev. Judy Mathis is a Vocational Deacon who is active in Outreach and Pastoral Care and  the Volunteer Coordinator for the Parish.  She is a graduate of the University of Miami (B. A.) and Syracuse University (M. S.) and was a high school English teacher and guidance counselor  nearly 30 years. Judy is a graduate of the Institute of Christian Studies in Orlando and was ordained in 2003. A member of St. James since 1982, she previously served as Senior Warden and has been active in numerous ministries. In 1964, Judy married her husband Sonny while they were serving the U.S. Peace Corps.  They have two grown children, Melissa who is married to Ken Dennis, and Andy who is married to Jan.  They have three grandsons: Grant, Zach, and Wiley.  Contact Rev. Ashton Williston
Youth Ministor


Ashton was born in New Smyrna Beach, baptized and married at St. James Episcopal Church. She received her Associate in Arts degree at Brevard Community College in 2004. In 2007 she graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Growing up she was extremely involved in youth ministry in the diocese of Northern Indiana. She began her youth ministry career at Holy Trinity in Melbourne in 2002. She came to St. James in May of 2006. She and her husband Joseph have two beautiful daughters Isabella and Abigail.
